Body-Mind-Spirit Integrative Psychotherapy

The psychotherapeutic orientation at 'the Zenter' is a body-mind integrative dialogue therapy approach which is focused on assisting clients in reaching their goals and potentials with as much grace and ease as possible, and with as much wisdom and intelligence as we can find access to.

With psychotherapeutic assistance you can shift limiting beliefs and life patterns into more functional and optimal ones. Such positive shifts can unfold most effectively when we not only talk about the issues, but also access and work with how such beliefs and patterns are held in place deep within our inner system. We want to shift unproductive and un-wholesome habits at the root or seed level. This seed level is what we call the 'core' level our body-mind functioning. This core level exists not only in the form of 'software' memory in the brain, but organizing beliefs which underlie habits and patterns are also held or stored in the 'hardware' of the body-mind: in material, chemical, and energetic forms. We may think of it as sort of like 'pockets' or 'clouds' of experience residue held at core level from where it ongoingly influences our ability to accurately perceive our current reality.

To assist the client in accessing and processing core material Inge Mula draws on a variety of experiential body-mind modalities. When appropriate she draws on methodology and technology from Psychodynamic Experiential Psychotherapy, Hakomi mindfulness based psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Advanced Energy Healing, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Psychological Kinesiology, Critical Incidence Stress Debriefing, and other modalities.

Hakomi mindfulness based psychotherapy is a modality that teaches the client to access greater resources and greater knowing from within. With specific and deliberate use of Mindfulness, pre-conscious and unconscious core organizing patterns are accessed and brought into consciousness where they can be processed and shifted when this is safe, appropriate and optimal. In this process the client learns how to access the core of issues and to resolve these at their base where they are stored in the bodymind and surrounding energetic field. Hakomi teaches ways of accessing and diagloging with the subconscious, and with parts of the unconscious mind (for more on the hakomi method see Hakomi Headquarters web site and Ron Inge Mula is a certified Hakomi Therapist and Teacher.

From Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and founder Richard Schwartz Ph.D. Inge Mula has learned and added to the repertoire of inner dialoging and ways of facilitating inner relations between parts of the psyche. The inner world is seen as a system of parts. Internal systems may operate in an atmosphere of balance and harmony or, when things are not going so well, in an atmosphere of dis-harmony, polerization and conflict. With these IFS tools an individual gets to know aspects of their inner system, how it operates, how to foster collaboration between parts, and how to unburden old out dated experience residue. In IFS there is an expanded use of Mindfulness and a deliberate use of Qualities of the transpersonal Self in the unburdening and healing work.

When appropriate, we access support and wisdom from the transpersonal realm of spiritual guidance from what has at times been named as the super-conscious realm, the realm of Christ Consciousness, Mother God, Father God, and oneness.

Trauma Treatment

Inge Mula has received specialized training in the treatment and resolution of trauma. She completed both level one and level two of a very effective trauma treatment modality called Eye Movement Decensitization and reprocessing, (EMDR), and she has practiced this form of therapy for 8 years. In addition to this she is trained in Critical Incidence Stress Debriefing (CISD), and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. She has lectured to professionals on neuro-psychology of trauma and trauma treatment, and segments of her doctoral dissertation examine neuro-psychological aspects of trauma.
